    We moved for medical school. I left a great job.

    We had our second boy!

    Two days after Boy 2 was born, my brother, who had been sober just three months, moved in and stayed until October 2007.

    We had our third boy!

    Our second son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Intense operation and long recovery followed.

    Josh graduated from medical school.

    We moved for surgical residency.

    We moved for pathology residency. We bought a home and I returned to teaching.

    Josh decided to return to general surgery.

    We moved for surgical residency, and once again I left a great job.

    We had our 5th son.

    Josh graduated from surgical residency and accepted his first attending job position. We moved again.

    My mom, who has Parkinson’s Disease, lived with us for 6 months (until May 2016).

    We both knew the first attending job wasn’t a good fit for us long-term.

    Josh decided to do a fellowship. We moved again.
